The Energy and Sustainability Summer School is a pioneering initiative hosted by Texas A&M University at Qatar since 2022. This program is designed to empower a new generation of leaders by offering an immersive educational experience in the dynamic fields of energy and sustainability. With a strong focus on inclusive participation, the summer school welcomes undergraduate students from diverse geographical and academic backgrounds, representing a broad spectrum of disciplines such as chemical engineering, electrical engineering, geophysics, environmental sciences and software engineering.
 
The curriculum is meticulously crafted to blend rigorous academic coursework with practical industry exposure. Participants engage in a comprehensive study of the energy economy, exploring topics such as natural gas processing, the application of AI tools in energy, energy security, water treatment, sustainable energy systems, and innovative approaches to plastics upcycling. The academic experience is enriched by external lectures from world-renowned institutions and leading companies in the energy sector. Beyond classroom learning, the summer school offers extensive practical experiences, including experiments in state-of-the-art laboratories, interactions with industry professionals, and tours of cutting-edge research facilities. Cultural activities and engagement with local communities further enhance the participants' understanding and appreciation of diverse global perspectives.
 
Students will receive assistantships to cover local expenses, airfare and accommodation.
