Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Wahab is a Professor and Interim Chair of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ), Doha, Qatar. He is also an affiliated faculty with the Department of Materials Science & Engineering and Zachry Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, USA. His research primarily focuses on electrocatalysis and electrochemical processes associated with water electrolysis, electrolyte and electrolyzer engineering, and treatment of water/wastewater. This work also includes engineered osmosis for water desalination and osmotic energy harvesting, advanced oxidation and reduction processes, electrocoagulation, innovative extensions of lime softening for removal of a wide range of contaminants, and desalination pretreatment and brine management. This research has attracted significant external funding and has led to the publication of more than 150 peer-reviewed journal articles and more than 90 conference presentations. He is an editorial board member of the Journal of Water Process Engineering (Elsevier) and Emergent Materials Journal (Springer). Dr. Abdel-Wahab has been serving on several technical committees for a number of governmental and non-governmental agencies in Qatar and the region.
