Water and Environmental Engineering

This lab contains state-of-the-art water and environmental analysis equipment including a range of high performance gas and liquid chromatographs/mass spectroscopy and spectrophotometers. Laboratory analytical capabilities include inorganic, organic and physical parameter testing of samples with a variety of matrices, including water, wastewater, soils and sludge's. The laboratories maintain a comprehensive Quality Assurance and Quality Control Program. The sources of analytical procedures include but are not limited to Methods for Chemical Analysis of Water and Wastes (EPA 600/4-79-020), Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater (APHA) and Test Methods for Evaluating Solid Waste-Physical/Chemical Methods (EPA SW-846). A set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is available for each of the laboratory areas. These SOPs are comprised of clear, complete written instructions for completing each standard test performed by QWE.
