Texas A&M University at Qatar students participate in Shell Eco Marathon-SEM in Singapore
A group of eight students (seven mechanical and one electrical engineering students) from Texas A&M University at Qatar participated in the Shell Eco Marathon competition and they are representing Qatar in this competition. The competition took place in Singapore on 16-18 March 2017. The Shell Eco Marathon (SEM) is a unique competition as it challenges students around the world to design, build, and drive the most energy-efficient car. Successfully their car passed the technical inspection and managed to complete the track (12.7km in length) three times. The car participated in the urban concept category utilizing Gas to Liquid (GTL) diesel in line with Qatar’s attempts to remain the GTL capital of the world.
