There are three ways in which TAMUQ students may make an appointment for counseling:

Appointments are available from 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday.
Confidentiality
Records of your counseling sessions are not part of your educational records. Release of these counseling records requires your written permission. Confidentiality is respected to the limits allowed by Texas state law, which include:
- The counselor believes that you are likely to harm yourself and/or another person, he or she may take action necessary to protect you or others by contacting law enforcement officers or a physician.
- The counselor believes that a child has been or may be abused or neglected, the clinician is required to make a report to the appropriate state agency.
- The counselor believes that an elderly or disabled person has been or may be abused, neglected, or subject to financial exploitation.
- If you are a minor (under the age of 18).
Crisis Intervention Services
The crisis counseling service is for students who are experiencing severe emotional distress and who are in life-threatening or life-altering situations.
Students who are experiencing severe emotional distress should:
- Visit office 318C to see a counselor
If you need crisis counseling after business hours, on weekends or holidays, call 333 or visit the nearest hospital emergency room.

Students may also seek medical services at any of the Hamad Medical Corporation Primary Health Care Centres in Doha. Al Gharafah Health Centre is the closest one to Education City.
Directions: go towards QF housing from Education City, at the fourth round about make a u-turn and the clinic building is on your immediate right. Basic health, dental (is open morning and evening, but come early as they do not take appointments and they only take 25 patients per shift), an OB/GYN (for pregnant women is open on Sunday mornings), the “special women’s doctor “(for women’s issues is available on Monday-Wednesday with appointment, but you have to go there to make the appointment) and diabetic clinic (Monday mornings- takes appointments, but you must go there to make the appointment) services are all covered by the National Health Card.
It is QAR 30 without a health card. The clinic offer vaccinations on Wednesdays for children 2 months to 4 years old. There is a lab on site. The hours of operation are from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m., Sunday-Thursday. The clinic is closed on Fridays and Saturdays. Students should take their valid National Health Card and passport and present these upon arrival.

Immunizations
Qatar Foundation and TAMUQ respectfully require that you complete the Student Health and Immunization Record. Every incoming and current student who attends a branch affiliate must submit proof of certain vaccinations/immunizations (i.e., copy of childhood or current immunization records) and/or proof of immunity (i.e., copies of the blood titer results) to their respective University.
This information must be compiled and confirmed by your Health Care Provider in English. If you do not have the documents in English, you may have them translated. Translations of non-English documents must be certified. This policy went into effect 1 August 2009. The required vaccinations are described in the document which is included with this letter (Immunization and Tuberculosis Screening Certificate). You are required to return the appropriate documents before you begin classes at TAMUQ. You will be blocked from registering for classes until you are in complete compliance with the Qatar Foundation policy.
