Faculty Appointments at TAMUQ

Faculty at Texas A&M at Qatar must meet the same criteria as faculty hired to teach at Texas A&M’s main campus in College Station and undergo an identical selection process. All faculty members of the Qatar campus are employees of Texas A&M. All TAMUQ faculty receive 9 months salary per year. The three summer month salaries will be earned by teaching a summer course, buying them with external funds or startup funds or by providing substantial service to the campus.

Texas A&M at Qatar offers a competitive salary package commensurate with rank and experience. The package includes housing, annual home leave allowances, dependent education, local transportation allowance, medical insurance for employees and dependents, plus appropriate relocation and repatriation expenses. Faculty members are also eligible for professional development funds to help them with teaching and curriculum development.

About Texas A&M at Qatar

Texas A&M University at Qatar is a partnership with Qatar Foundation. Established in 2003, Texas A&M University at Qatar offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Petroleum Engineering, and a Master’s Program in Chemical Engineering. Texas A&M at Qatar attracts some of the best high school graduates in the region. The degree programs are materially identical to those of the main campus at College Station, Texas. A Texas A&M University diploma is awarded to graduates.
